LUCKNOW: Laying stress on the simplification of processes and improvement in functioning of development authorities, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said all schemes should be people-friendly and completed within a fixed timeframe.
Reviewing the performance of development authorities during an inter-departmental meeting, the CM said the functioning of these bodies should be improved at various levels and ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the people.
“The Chief Minister said the status of projects being run by development authorities should be reviewed at department level after which he would himself look into the performance,” a government spokesman said.
Yogi said he had received complaints about paddy purchase process and directed that strict action be taken against those found guilty of committing irregularities.
“Some disruptive and anti-development elements are trying to disturb the procurement process. Officials should carry out regular reviews of paddy purchase centres,” he said.
The CM said an effective and hassle-free system of paddy purchase should be created at all procurement centres to ensure farmers are given minimum support price for their produce and they receive it on time. For the industries department, Yogi said there was the need to have qualified and hardworking officers in Invest UP, UPSIDA and development authorities.
The spokesman said while reviewing the performance of education department, the CM directed officials to start the process of inter-district transfer of teachers. Yogi said he, along with Union urban development minister, would soon review the progress of Smart City and AMRUT Yojana again. He said these schemes should be monitored continuously as they were related to public interest.
The CM also asked the officials concerned to prepare detailed project reports of state universities in Saharanpur, Aligarh and Azamgarh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow at the earliest so that construction work could begin soon.
