Ludhiana: The fast unto death of Harmeet Sing Kingra, president of Punjab Agricultural University Teachers’ Association (PAUTA) in protest against non acceptance of the demands of teachers entered 6th day on Monday.
A large number of teachers, including women teachers, visited the dharna site in support of Kingra on Monday.
In a release here, D K Sharma, secretary of PAUTA, said Amrinder Singh Malhi, sub-divisional magistrate of Ludhiana west met Kingra and apprised him that the his meeting has been fixed with Anirudh Tiwari, additional chief secretary-cum-financial commissioner, development, Punjab to sort the issue out. Sharma also said the election of the PAU Teachers Association has been postponed to January 20, 2021. Earlier it was scheduled for December 20.
