People feeling cheated in two-year tenure of Bhupesh Government: Raman

People feeling cheated in two-year tenure of Bhupesh Government: Raman

Raipur, Dec 15 (UNI) Charging Bhupesh Government with forgetting its election promises Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice President and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh said that every section of people was feeling cheated in two-year tenure of this government in the state so far.

All sections including farmers, labourers, youth, traders and women for whom the Bhupesh Government is celebrating completion of two years in office farmers are feeling cheated, Dr Singh said by issuing a statement here today. While Congress had made tall promises for every section in its election manifesto in last elections, yet none of these promises has been fulfilled, he said.

According to him all the announcements made in the manifesto proved to be false. Congress had talked big over paddy procurement but farmers are yet to get payment for procurement of their paddy during last Kharif season, he said adding that it is still not clear when the payment will be made for paddy being procured this year. It was promised in the manifesto for payment of Rs 1100 as pending bonus of two years for paddy procurement to

the farmers but this promise is being forgotten, he said.

According to Dr Singh the women had supported Congress after being influenced by its promise for complete ban on liquor but on the contrary during the last two years liquor is being sold at every nook and corner. Congress had even taken pledge by holding holy water of river Ganges to ban liquor in the state, he said. He alleged that liquor had become a medium of illegal income. He alleged that 30% liquor was sold illegally in government liquor shops.

He also alleged that the royalty of coal was illegally recovered at Rs 25 per ton and said that traders asking for its receipt were being intimidated. Charging the state government with exploiting all types of financial resources he said that Bhupesh government turned into ATM machine for Delhi. What is more embarrassing is that the MLA from the ruling party had to publicly ask the Home Minister to display a rate list in the police stations he said and added that instead of taking action the minister told the MLA to raise the issue in party meeting.
