27-year-old Bhopal woman commits suicide

On Sunday, a 27-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in TT Nagar locality in Bhopal.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot, but it came to light that a dispute took place between the family members after which she hanged herself. The woman’s uncle accused the woman’s husband and his family members of harassing her over money.

Police said that the deceased Durga Barman, wife of Naveen Barman, resided with her family members in the Gautam Nagar area in TT Nagar.

Police said that Durga’s mother-in-law Chaya Barman informed police about the incident on Dial-100 and she told that on Saturday around 7pm, when she sitting outside the home, Durga allegedly hanged herself. At the time of the incident, her husband had gone out for work. A case was registered and a probe is underway.
