EE has announced the launch of an online safety quiz to help keep children safe online, developed in partnership with Internet Matters.
The launch of the 'Nice Device' quiz comes as research shows that one third of UK parents plan to give their child a phone or connected device for Christmas. The survey of parents with children aged 6-15 by EE shows that almost two thirds (63%) parents feel children are safer with a connected device, and 65 percent consider them vital for their child's education. However, more than three quarters (77%) of parents are concerned about the content their child could access, and almost half worry about the right age to give a connected device to their child.
Just over 1 in 10 parents would gift a connected device/phone to a child as young as six; with 25 percent saying 10 year old was the most suitable age. The quiz tests parents knowledge of basic online safety, and directs them to sources of advice.
