Russia, Cuba might conduct joint study of COVID-19 antivirals

Moscow, Dec 14 (Sputnik) Russia and Cuba are weighing the possibility of conducting a joint research and clinical approbation of drugs for COVID-19, Russia's First Deputy Health Minister Igor Kagramanyan said on Monday.
"There is a proposal from the Cuban side for a joint study and clinical approbation of a Cuban drug and a domestic drug in contact with a Russian pharmaceutical company, including for the treatment of patients with a new coronavirus infection," Kagramanyan said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.
Kagramanyan added that this issue is planned to be discussed at the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Research and Technical Cooperation, which is the main regulator of bilateral trade and economic relations.
The 18th Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission will be held on December 15-16, 2020 in Havana, Cuba.
