L&T Share Price Up by 6%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 2.5%

L&T share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,264.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 18,252 (up 2.5%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are L&T (up 5.6%) and NBCC (INDIA) (up 5.6%).

SKF INDIA (down 0.7%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, L&T has moved down from Rs 1,279 to Rs 1,264, registering a loss of Rs 16 (down 1.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS has moved up from 16,696 to 18,252, registering a gain of 1,556 points (up 9.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index stocks during this same period were LAKSHMI MACHINE (up 41.3%), HAVELLS IND (up 27.9%) and HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 24.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 46,373 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are L&T (up 5.6%), ONGC (up 3.7%) and ICICI BANK (up 2.3%). Other gainers include NTPC (up 2.0%) and SUN PHARMA (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 13,598 (up 0.3%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include L&T (up 5.6%), ONGC (up 3.9%) and CIPLA (up 3.8%). Other gainers include COAL INDIA (up 2.9%) and IOC (up 2.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 40,240 to 46,373, registering a gain of 6,133 points (up 14.90%).

L&T Financial Update...

L&T net profit down at Rs 23 billion for the quarter ended September 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 25 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 14.4% to Rs 310.3 billion during the period as against Rs 362.4 billion in July-September 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, L&T reported 2.3% increase in net profit to Rs 101.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 99.4 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 7.6% to Rs 1,455 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of L&T, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 42.5x.
