Devin Brumfield is moving on.
The University of Utah junior running back announced Monday he will be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. With the NCAA having frozen the eligibility clock for football players in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brumfield still has two seasons to play.
Brumfield was the projected starter at running back and he started the Nov. 21 opener vs. USC, but freshman Ty Jordan has emerged as the present and future of the position for the Utes. Brumfield had just 21 carries for 85 yards in four games, while Jordan has exploded onto the scene with 441 yards, three touchdowns and a yards-per-carry average of 7.3.
Brumfield is the second Utes running back to transfer this season, following redshirt sophomore TJ Green, who has since transferred to Liberty.
