Lone Congress member in new BTC joins BJP

Guwahati, Dec 14 (UNI) The lone Congress candidate who was elected to the Bodoland
Territorial Council (BTC), Sajal Kumar Singha, has defected to the BJP, leading to his
expulsion from the party.
Singha has been elected from Srirampur seat in the recently concluded BTC election,
the only Congress candidate to win.
However, he announced of joining the BJP today, which had won nine seats and is a
part of the post-poll coalition in BTC that will form the new Executive Council tomorrow.
Following his announcement, the Congress issued an order this evening, expelling
Singha from primary membership of the party for 'anti-party activities'.
