Nets vs Wizards Match Preview

Match Preview – Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will play their first NBA preseason game against the Washington Wizards. They announced their training camp roster which included a few surprise names.

The good news for the Nets is that Kevin Durant is back. We can expect to see him tomorrow for a few minutes as he said that he is ‘taking it one day at a time.‘ They will be without the services of Caris LeVert.

Their record last season was decent, to say the least as they managed a 35-37 record. They added Steve Nash as their head coach. He will be guided by the assistance of ex-Houston Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni.

Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie are not obvious complements to Irving and Durant. Both are seemingly much more comfortable with the ball in their hands, though Dinwiddie shot much better on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers (37.3%) than he did on pull-up 3-pointers (27.7%) last season.

Match Preview – Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards’ most significant move in the NBA offseason was to add Russell Westbrook. They have traded John Wall and a future draft round pick for the star guard.

Although, sadly for the Wizards’ fan, Westbrook will not be ready for the game against the Nets.

Beal and Westbrook will travel with the team and do some work pregame, per coach Scott Brooks. But they are unlikely to play.

We will play it by ear with the rest of the guys. It’s going to be some good opportunities for some guys to play some pretty good minutes and get a good look,” Brooks said.

It is possible that Davis Bertans and Robin Lopez will also not feature because they delayed in joining the team for training camp.
