Sensex at New peak at 46,253.46 pts

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday ended a life time high at 46,253.46, advancing 154.45 pts on the strength of Capital Goods, Oil and Gas, Utilities and Industrials sticks amid positive Asian Market.

The Nifty of national stock exchange too rose by 44.30 pts at 13,558.15.

The day opened on a strong note at 46,284.70, rising by 185 pts. During the day it spurted 274 pts to 46,373.34, days high before closing at 46,253.46, surging 154.45 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 46,373.94 and 45,951.53 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 13,597.50 and 13,472.45 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices that kept the market were Capital Goods, Oil and Gas, Utilities, Metal and Industrials stocks.

In scrips, ONGC was a top gainer up by 5.84 pc to Rs 102.45 followed by L& T, NTPC, ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.79 pc and Small Cap by 0.74 pc. In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
