Punjab: Ludhiana reports two deaths, 74 new Covid-19 cases

LUDHIANA: A total of 74 patients — 65 from Ludhiana and nine from other states/districts — have tested positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours time, deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma said on Monday.
He said that there are 705 active patients in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, adding, till date, a total of 4,98,719 samples have been taken. The report of 4,96,681 samples has been received, of which 4,69,180 samples were found negative, while the report of 2038 samples was pending. Sharma said that now, the total number of patients from Ludhiana is 24,007, while 3,494 patients are from other districts/states.
Two patients died on Monday — one from Bathinda and one from Jammu and Kashmir. Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives includes 934 people from Ludhiana and 412 from other districts.
He said that till date, 53,371 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,562. Today, 174 persons were sent for home quarantine.
