PDP leader’s PSO injured in suspected militant attack in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) Suspected militants shot at and injured Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in the summer capital, Srinagar, on Monday.

Official sources said that suspected militants fired at the PSO of PDP leader Haji Parvaiz Ahmad at Natipora in uptown Srinagar on Monday morning. “The PSO, identified as Constable Manzoor Ahmad, was injured in the attack,” they said, adding that the wounded were immediately taken to SHMS hospital.



They said security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to trace the attackers. “Security forces have also alerted checkpoint within 3 km radius from the site of the attack and vehicles, particularly two-wheelers, are being checked before allowing them to move forward,” they added.
