Rifle confiscated from Kangvai OP

Imphal, December 12 2020: Unknown armed persons snatched a gun from sentries guarding Kangvai police outpost in Churachandpur district today.

Sources said the incident happened at around 1.30 am today.

At least six armed persons overpowered two sentries and fled with an INSAS rifle.

The outpost houses about 60 personnel under the command of one Sub-Inspector.

Following the incident, Churachandpur police, Bishnupur police and Assam Rifles are conducting search operations at suspected places.

However, the armed persons have not been nabbed till the time of filing this report and police are yet to identify them, said the sources.
