Captain backstabbed farmers by cracking deal with Adanis:AAP

Captain backstabbed farmers by cracking deal with Adanis:AAP

Chandigarh/New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President and MP Bhagwant Mann has alleged that while farmers of the country are protesting against the black farm laws, central government and corporate houses, Captain Amarinder Singh was busy cracking electricity purchase deals with the Adnai group.

"By indulging in this, Captain Amarinder Singh has backstabbed the farmers of Punjab "Mr Mann said.

Addressing the press Sunday, Bhagwant Mann said there was a huge difference between Captain’s words and actions. On the one hand, Captain Amarinder does theatrics to show his opposition to the central farm laws and the corporates and on the other, he is too busy promoting the farm laws and corporate control in the state.

Breaking a deal with the Adani group for the supply of electricity in the state shows that Amarinder is acting as BJP’s CM and is playing as per Narendra Modi’s instructions.

Bhagwant Mann said when farmers were planning to enter Delhi en masse on November 26, Captain struck a power purchase deal with the Adanis behind the farmer’s back. This deal is nothing more than a conspiracy to break the motivation of the protesting farmers because on the one hand farmer’s are trying to pressurise the corporate houses by boycotting their products and services but their own CM is strengthening their hands by offering them deals in the state.

Asking for Captain's resignation, Bhagwant Mann said Amarinder has no moral right to be the CM of the state anymore. Instead of oppressing the electricity mafia, Captain has strengthened them further. If Captain would have cared for his people and farmers he wouldn’t have come under Modi’s pressure and offered Adanis the electricity deal and he would have revoked the flawed PPAs signed by the Badals.

Questioning the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Bhagwant Mann said on the one hand they conducted huge tractor rallies in support of the farmers but on the other hand Captain is offering deals to Adanis, does Rahul Gandhi know about these deals and are they happening under the purview of the top leadership? Maybe this is what was discussed between Amit Shah and Captain Amarinder Singh when they met that Captain would do a deal with the Adanis in return for the central government not opening ED investigations against him and his son.
