AMBALA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana state president Om Prakash Dhankar in a late night development on Sunday announced the name of Dr Vandana Sharma, as party's mayoral candidate for Ambala City Municipal Corporation (MC) election scheduled for December 27.
The saffron party has also announced councilor candidates on 15 wards of the city including 1 to 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, and 19.
BJP's alliance partner Jannayak Janata Party's (JJP) senior leader KC Bangar had earlier on Sunday announced candidates on ward number 10, 11, 14, 18, and 20, at an event in Chandigarh.
BJP's mayoral candidate Dr Vandana Sharma is incumbent chairperson of Ambala district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and she is wife of party's state spokesman and senior leader Sanjay Sharma.
As per the information apart from Dr Vandana, their were four more women candidates in race for mayoral candidature in Ambala on BJP's ticket including Parveen Kumari wife of party's former district president Jagmohan Lal Kumar, Vandana Agarwal wife of party's district treasurer Anubhav Agarwal, Ambala Mandal president Archana Chhibber and Shailja Sachdeva wife of party's Punjabi community leader Sandeep Sachdeva.
