A Sambar (deer) strayed into Green Park Colony here today morning thereby causing commotion in the area. After scrambling for about 40 to 50 minutes, residents and shopkeepers tied the animal with a rope. Residents alleged that the rescue team of forest officials reached late in the colony.
Surinder Khosla, a resident, said, “We called forest officials repeatedly. However, their team reached after three hours. We tied sambar with a rope.”
As per residents of the area the animal seemingly strayed and was spotted in the area at around 9 am. However, the rescue team reached colony at around 12 pm.
The team had to put in lot of efforts to put a net on the Sambar. The team ultimately took away animal and released it into the wild area.
Khushvinder Singh, District Forest Officer, said the team reached colony as soon as officials received the call.
“The team reached colony in time. No injury to residents or animal has been reported,” he added.
