Memo submitted to Governor for appointment of full time Secretary at State Kala Akademi

Imphal, December 12 2020: Various culture bodies of the state including Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Writter's Forum Imphal, Naharol Shhitya Premi Samiti, Manipur Literary Society, Manipur Dramatic Union, Rup-Mahal Theatre, Society Theater, Manipur Jagoi Marup, Progressive Artist Laboratory and Nimita Devi Nitya Ashram had submitted a memorandum to the governor of Manipur Dr Najma Heptulla urging her to appoint a full time Secretary of the Manipur State Kala Akademi.

The organization however urged the governor to review the age limit of the secretary as per the advertisement notification of November 28, 2020 .

The memorandum stated that as per the new regulation the minimum age limit is 55 years while the mximum age limit is 63 years.

But the age limit for the Sangeet Natak Akademi is 45 to 50 .

When the superannuation for for government employee is 60 years.

Essential qualification for the Secretary of the Sangeet Natak Akademi should be post graduate pluse knowledge of performing art or having experience of writer or editing in addition to 10 years experience of administration.

The memorandum submitted to the governor urged for review of the age limit as per the recruitment notification while appreciating the government for its initiative to fulfill the long pending demand of the culture lovers.
