Uttar Pradesh: Mother, son found murdered inside Prayagraj house

PRAYAGRAJ: A man and hiw 55-year-old mother were found murdered at their home in Saray Deena village in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning.
Upon being alerted, senior police officials, including SP (Trans Ganga) Dhawal Jaiswal along with forensic experts, sniffer squad and police forces, rushed the spot and carried out investigations.
The deceased, identified as Dharma Devi and her son Surendra Pasi alias Tiddu (22), were resident of Saray Deema village.
SP Jaiswal told reporters that initial police investigation revealed that a land dispute led to the killing the mother-son duo. He said two police teams have been formed to crack the case. Two persons have also been detained for questioning.
Police further claimed unidentified assailants barged into the house late on Saturday and killed the woman and her son.
The case came to light on Sunday morning when a girl arrived at victim’s house to fetch milk and found their lying in a pool of blood.
Police said that the elder son of the deceased woman was living in neighbouring Sikandarpur village. Dharma Devi was staying at the house with her two other sons – Surendra and Mahendra - at Saray Deen village.
On Saturday night, one of her sons - Mahendra - left the house to attend a marriage function while the elderly woman was with Surendra at their house.
Mahendra told police that they had a land dispute with their neighbours following which the police detained two men for questioning.
Police said that assailants attacked the mother-son duo with bricks and sticks with an intention to murder them. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
