We will never forget cowardly attack on Parliament in 2001: PM

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the country will never forget the cowardly attack on Parliament on this day in 2001 and will always be thankful to the martyrs who protected the Parliament.

Mr Modi paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the 2001 Parliament attack.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, 'We will never forget the cowardly attack on our Parliament on this day in 2001. We recall the valour and sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our Parliament. India will always be thankful to them.'

On December 13, 2001, terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked the Parliament complex and opened fire killing nine people.

All five terrorists were shot dead.
