Cobras' Linde spins a web but Warriors fight back
It was a day for the bowlers at St Georges Park on Sunday on day one of the 4-Day Franchise series clash between the Warriors and the Cape Cobras.
The home side, who won the toss and elected to bat were soon in deep trouble as Akhona Mnyaka (2/34) claimed the wickets of Matthew Breetzke (11) and Mohammed Vallie (2) while Ziyaad Abrahams (1/49) chipped in with the scalp of Gihahn Cloete (9) to have the Warriors reeling at 26/3.
A fight back led by Rudi Second (55) and Jon-Jon Smuts (36) saw the pair put on 79 for the fourth wicket before Calvin Savage (2/23) removed both batsmen.
Sinethemba Qeshile (29) and Lesiba Ngoepe (31) then put on 57 for the sixth wicket before George Linde spun his magic.
The spinner quickly ran through the Warriors batting line-up to end with 4/52 in 18 overs as the home side were all out for 194 in 64 overs.
The Cobras were soon in trouble in their first turn at the crease, losing Janneman Malan (0) and captain, Zubayr Hamza (4) to the bowling of Glenton Stuurman (2/9).
Another wicket followed as Toni de Zorzi fell for 10.
At close of play Pieter Malan was not out on 35 and Kyle Verreynne on 12.

Titans stumble after strong start
Aiden Markram was in the runs again on day one of the 4-Day Franchise clash against the Dolphins at Centurion.
Markram (75) and Dean Elgar (52) got their side off to the perfect start after winning the toss and electing to bat with the Proteas pair putting on 116 for the first wicket.
But after two wickets in quick succession, the Dolphins fought their way back into the match chipping in with regular wickets.
Markram looked well on course for his fourth century of the season and was livid with himself when he was caught off the bowling of Ruan de Swardt who was the best of Dolphins bowlers with 4/42.
A quick fire 48 by Abdu Galiem saw the Titans to the close at 269 for 9 but they would have surely wanted to have posted over 300 after Markram and Elgar's impressive start.
Along with De Swardt, Keshav Maharaj bowled superbly as the Proteas spinner ended with 3/48 from his 23 overs.

Van Tonder's 180* puts Knights in control over Lions
Raynard van Tonder 180* off just 226 balls was the highlight of day one of the 4-Day Franchise series clash between the Knights and the Lions in Bloemfontein.
After winning the toss, Van Tonder dominated, hitting 23 fours and two sixes in his knock.
A host of other Knights batsmen managed to get going only to get out with the next highest score coming from opener Matthew Kleinveldt (28).
With the Knights at 185 for 5, the Lions would have thought they had a chance of bowling the home side out for under 250 but Shaun von Berg (21) hung around with Van Tonder and the pair put on 111 for the sixth wicket.
By the end of the day, the Knights were on 322 for 5 with Van Tonder set to resume his epic knock in the morning.
