Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain will come on a three-day visit to the state on December 17 to take stock of preparations for next year's assembly elections in Bengal. He will be meeting in several stages with the officials of the State Election Commission. There is also a program for Jain to go to North Bengal.

According to sources, before the Deputy Election Commissioner's visit, all the District Magistrates have been asked to prepare a table of sensitive areas of their district on a booth basis. Details of violent incidents during the last assembly elections have also been sought.

The visit of the Deputy Election Commissioner is being described as very important in the context of the attack on the convoy of BJP National President JP Nadda in the Diamond Harbor area of ​​South 24 Parganas district.

Significantly, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to visit Bengal on the day of Sudeep Jain's return to Delhi. Sources have revealed that after the return of Sudeep Jain, the entire bench of the Central Election Commission may visit the state.
