Islamabad, Dec 13 (UNI) At least 25 people were injured due to an explosion near here in Rawalpindi city of Pakistan on Sunday, the rescue officials informed.
They said that 22 victims have been shifted to the District Hospital while the rest of the three were provided first aid on the spot.
The police said that it was too soon to ascertain the nature of the blast though eyewitnesses felt it to be a grenade attack.
Notably, this is a second attack near a police station in less than 10 days. On December 4, one man was killed and seven other people were injured in a blast carried out using an improvised explosive device near Pir Wadhai police station.
According to local media reports, the area has been cordoned off and officials of Counter-Terrorism Department and forensic experts are carrying out investigations at the blast site.
