Ind vs Aus 1st Test: Steve Smith made the most of his time away from cricket and rejuvenating for the much-anticipated Test series against India which starts from December 17. The Australian batsman shared a picture of himself reading on kindle and enjoying coffee in his hotel room. He added that he cannot stop visualising his game and shadow batting, but even then “little downtime and switch off” is important “even if it’s just for an hour.
“Even when preparing for a Test match it’s important to have a little downtime and switch off, even if it’s just for an hour over your Sunday morning coffee. This is not something that comes easy to me as I find it hard to stop visualising the game or shadow batting!” he wrote in his social media post.

In David Warner’s absence, all eyes will be on Smith for the day-night Test in Adelaide. Warner had picked up a groin injury and was therefore ruled out of the first of the four Test series opener.
Smith enjoys a brilliant record against India as the top-ranked Test batsman has scored 1429 runs in 10 matches at a staggering average of 84.05. He has hit 10 hundreds against the Asian side.
Meanwhile, Australia’s team management have a headache at the top order. The biggest conundrum is their opening combination which needs to be sorted out in time. Will Pucovski, who looked certain for a debut suffered a concussion injury during the first practice game against Ajinkya Rahane-led India A last week. Joe Burns has been struggling to put bat to ball as he suffered failures in both the innings of the ongoing pink-ball warm-up at the Sydney Cricket Ground for Australia A.
