UP govt's task cut out with 1441 new COVID cases

Lucknow, Dec 13 (UNI) Total Covid-19 positive cases in Uttar Pradesh touched 5,65,556 after 1441 fresh cases were detected on Sunday.
According to officials here, there are still 19,729 positive cases in the state who are either being treated in home isolation or in hospitals.
A total of 5,37,255 people have recovered from the virus including 1770 who were released on Sunday. A total of 8072 people had succumbed to the deadly virus including 16 Sunday.
Officials said on Saturday the state and private labs tested 1,56,023 Covid-19 samples and now the total tests has gone up to 2,14,15,257, highest in the country.
Meanwhile, Lucknow continued to be the hotspot in the state with 209 fresh cases and and deaths on Sunday. Ghaziabad witnessed 152 fresh cases.
