Reliance’s Model Economic Township Gets the Gold Certificate

Chandigarh, Jhajjar, 13 December, 2020: The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has awarded the Gold Certificate to Reliance’s Model Economic Township. Located in Jhajjar, Haryana, this township is the first economic township in North India to get a Gold Certificate. This award is conferred only on meeting several parameters like effective land use, mobility, and excellent city infrastructure. The Indian Green Building Council is associated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Good infrastructure, market connectivity, skilled human resources, and security are the things that the industry looks for while making investments. All this is easily available at Reliance Industries’ Model Economic Township in Jhajjar. Being close to the national capital, Delhi, this special economic zone is becoming the first choice of investors from all over the world. The township has now also got the seal of approval from the Indian Green Building Council.

Japanese companies are showing special interest in this township spread over 8250 acres. Japan’s automotive company Denso has set up a huge plant to manufacture components here. Recently Tsuzuki has also set up its plant here and the company wants to start manufacturing operations by 2021. For Panasonic, this technopark is its largest facility in India.

Connectivity has become smoother since the creation of the Western Peripheral Expressway. The proximity to Delhi NCR makes it easy for industries located here to access the North Indian markets. Apart from this, the country’s most prestigious health and educational institutions like AIIMS, IIT, and XLRI have also chosen Jhajjar for expansion. This is the reason that the Jhajjar Model Economic Township is one of the 12 sites that Japan has selected for the development of industries in India.
