Utah reports another 3,692 COVID-19 positives and 13 deaths; ICU capacity is now at 96%

Another dire day for Utah on the COVID-19 front, but with a small caveat.

The Utah Department of Health on Saturday reported an increase of 3,692 positive cases from Friday, which includes approximately 1,100 cases that were omitted because the department’s server was down Thursday and early Friday.

The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 2,706 per day; the average of positive laboratory tests is 25.8 percent.

The number of Utahns currently hospitalized with COVID-19 dipped slightly to 544, 24 fewer than Friday, UDOH reported. The total number of hospitalizations for the virus is 9,351.

However, the total of ICU beds occupied in the state is at 95.9% or (514 beds out of 536 available). That’s an all-time high.

The department reported 13 more deaths, including:

  1. Male, between 65-84, Davis County resident,
  2. Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident,
  3. Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident,
  4. Male, between 65-84, Weber County resident,
  5. Female, older than 85, Utah County resident,
  6. Female, between 45-64, Garfield County resident,
  7. Male, older than 85, Washington County resident,
  8. Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident,
  9. Male, between 45-64, Uintah County resident,
  10. Male, between 65-84, Washington County resident,
  11. Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident,
  12. Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident,
  13. Male, older than 85, Uintah County resident.
