COVID-19: Half of Hamirpur populace screened till now

Hamirpur (HP), Dec 12 (UNI) With COVID-19 is spreading its network in the district, the health department has so far screened 2.35 lakh people (49%) of the district population against the disease.
A spokesman of the department said that the rest of the population would be covered by December 27th so that coronavirus is prevented from spreading to other people.
The spokesman said that preparations were in the final stage for providing COVID-19 vaccine to 5,100 front line workers of the district and their places and institutions have also been identified.
He said that five more people have been found infected with the COVID-19 and those found positive under RT-PCR test included three women and two men and all were the primary contacts of the old patients.
With this, the total number of positive cases has increased to 2,445 including 298 active cases. Thirty-seven people have lost their lives including one today and there were 2,110 cured persons in the district.
