On completing one year in J&K, ASSOCHAM takes up issues of industry with UT Admn

Jammu, Dec 12 (UNI) The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) - one of the apex trade associations of the country on Saturday on the occasion of completion of its one year in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, took up the matter of trade and industry with the UT administration.
ASSOCHAM, which was established in 1920 is also celebrating its 100 years of existence this year.
During the past one year in Jammu and Kashmir, ASSOCHAM has worked for the betterment of the trade and industry and taken up many important issues with the UT administration. Several issues raised by ASSOCHAM have been addressed by the administration.
ASSOCHAM J&K Council organised a Webinar on the occasion of its first anniversary in J&K, in which all the members joined Manik Batra, Chairman ASSOCHAM J&K Council and Dr M A Alim, Co-Chairman.
Mr Batra and Dr Alim congratulated all the members of ASSOCHAM J&K on the first anniversary of the establishment of the J&K Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Manik Batra said, “ASSOCHAM J&K council completed its first successful year. It has been a memorable year for us.
The chapter was started with a few members with a common aim of having a trade body in J&K which can make a difference and contribute to development of the UT and help businesses grow”.
Mr Batra said that the J&K chapter has also grown stronger despite the COVID pandemic with a lot of business houses joining us this year.
“We have worked hard with the UT government on various policy issues and tried our best to resolve many issues, hopefully in the coming years we would be stronger and better. Congratulations to all the worthy members of our council”, he said.
Dr Alim, Co- Chairman of J&K Council also congratulated the members on the completion of one year with the quotes, “We started with a few, but now we are many, not only in numbers, but also in talent and creativity.”
To strengthen the J&K Council of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Amit Khajuria has recently joined ASSOCHAM as State head of the J&K Council.
The members of ASSOCHAM offered warm welcome to Mr Amit Khajuria and assured full support to strengthen the J&K Council.
Mr Khajuria assured all the members that J&K council of ASSOCHAM will work closely with the UT administration for Ease of Doing Business, creating job opportunities and attracting more investments in the UT.
Pertinent to mention here that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the J&K Council of ASSOCHAM came forward to help the needy at the time of lockdown and actively took up the industry issues with the administration through webinars.
