A protest was held by youth in the city today after an FIR was registered against a few persons for tearing posters of the BJP yesterday. The BJP on the other hand has levied allegations of politics against leaders of the Congress and the SAD.
The case
A few youngsters had torn flex boards of the BJP in protest against the Centre’s farm laws on Thursday. The boards were torn at Khanda Chowk, near Choti Nadi, at YPS Chowk by protesters, who also raised slogans against the BJP government at the Centre.

Later, the police said they received information regarding the incident in the evening and an FIR was registered against protesters, including two youths, who were identified as Simar and Damandeep.
Leaders of the BJP said a complaint was submitted yesterday after some party posters were defaced on Wednesday. In a statement, BJP spokesperson Prof Swaraj Ghuman today said, “We want stern action against those, who have torn our party’s posters.”
“Leaders of the Congress and the SAD youth wing should not try to extract political mileage by tearing our posters,” she added.
