Jagan govt not implementing 10 pc EBC quota: AP BJP

Tirupati, Dec 12 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh unit of the Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday charged the Andhra Pradesh government of Jaganmohan Reddy of not implementing the EBC reservations instituted by the Centre.

The executive committee of the AP unit which met at Tirupati on Saturday resolved that the state government was not allocating the 10% quota in educational institutions despite it being a central act .

The state executive also demanded that 3.5 lakh teachers of private educational institutions who were denied salaries during the period of the COVID lockdown should be provided financial assistance of ₹10,000 each .

The meeting whose decisions were read out to the media by the official spokesman Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy, also demanded that the state government deposit ₹1000 crore into the construction workers fund which has been due for several years now.

Earlier addressing the meeting Mr Somu Veeraju, the AP unit president said the YSRCP rule in AP was devoid of any significant development and was absolutely corrupt which has resulted in unplanned growth of the state.

He condemned the government action with regard to endowment and TTD lands and also found fault with the alleged take over of TTD surplus funds. He said BJP was opposed to the TTD auctioning off its land in other states.

The BJP spokesman said the state government all the health safety schemes of Centre were projected as State programs.

The executive found fault with YSRCP government forming a separate corporation for just 56 communities as against existing 109 backward communities in the state.

The BJP state committee also demanded Cancellation of the unanimous elections he.d for local bodies in the state and called for fresh polls.

Earlier the state and district BJP leaders participated in a rally supporting farmers from Ambedkar statue to Municipal office.
