Mumbai: A woman has filed a case of sexual harassment against Shiv Sena MP Rajendra Gavit in Thane. On the complaint of the victim, the police have started an investigation by registering a case under the sections of sexual harassment and molestation.

According to the police, the victim lives in the Meera Road area of Thane. The victim lodged a complaint at Naya Nagar Police Station on 11 December. The victim alleges, 'She used to work in a gas agency. MP (Rajendra Gavit) is the owner of this gas agency. He tried sexual harassment by taking the wrong advantage of trust. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case under sections 354 A and 506 of the IPC and started investigating the case further.
Gavit dismissed allegations of sexual harassment
On the allegations of the woman, Gavit said that there is no truth in the complaint and it is an attempt to tarnish her image. The MP alleged that the woman had embezzled money from the agency, after which she was fired. Now she is making false accusations to avenge this.
