In a revelation that will likely embarrass the Congress party, late former President and Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee has, in his memoirs, blamed Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh for the UPA's rout in the 2014 general elections. The fourth volume of Pranab's memoirs 'The Presidential Years' will be released in January 2021. Pranab has also written that many within the Congress felt that he would have been a better PM than Manmohan Singh. While Mukherjee's views about Sonia and Manmohan Singh will leave the Congress squirming, the late President also called PM Modi's style of functioning as autocratic.
