AHMEDABAD: Odhav police on Friday held Shivasinh Rajput, 24, for firing in the air at his own wedding procession. Inspector R G Jadeja of the Odhav police station said Rajput’s father Sumansinh, a retired BSF head constable, has also been held. Sumansinh has the licence for the revolver which Rajput used at the wedding on December 9.
“The two were held based on the video clip showing Rajput firing in the air while standing in an open SUV,” Jadeja said. “The clip went viral on Thursday.” According to police sources, Rajput fired when the wedding procession was about to reach the bride’s house in Deepalinagar. “Both have been booked under the sections of the Arms Act,” a police official said. The official said Rajput has expressed remorse for his action.
