Hyderabad, Dec 12 (UNI) Hyderabad-based All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) party chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday conducted a crucial meeting with its party leaders from West Bengal in connection with the upcoming polls in their state.

“ I have taken their detailed views with regards to upcoming polls and the political situation in the West Bengal, the MIM chief said.
“ Thankful to all of them for participating in the meeting, he tweeted.
After its party winning five seats in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, Owaisi had earlier declared “We will contest in West Bengal assembly polls in 2021, if our party member is ready to fight. Will surely take a decision on it.” He was laying all plans for victories there.
We have scope in West Bengal, but we have to talk to the local units and understand how far they are prepared to take up the challenge. Fighting an election is a different ballgame,” Owaisi said.
He particularly mentioned four districts of West Bengal with high Muslim population as his target -- Malda, Murshidabad, Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur and all the areas.
Besides Telangana and Bihar, MIM has two MLAs and one MP in Maharashtra.
West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 2021. With 294 seats, a keen contest awaits the state as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tries to wrest power from Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress.
