New farm law comes to ryots’ rescue

Hoshangabad, MP, Dec 11 (UNI) The district administration has invoked fresh agrarian sector legislation to ensure justice for a couple of cultivators whose paddy was not being purchased by a Delhi-based rice mill – despite an agreement – once price per quintal touched Rs 3,000; it was officially learnt.
The deal was finalised in June with Pushpraj Singh and Brajesh Patel of Bhoukhedi village. The duo complained to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Pipariya, on Thursday.

1,033 hamlets chosen under PMAGY

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) A total 1,033 villages of Madhya Pradesh have been identified under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana for integrated development of hamlets with more than 50 per cent Scheduled Caste population.
Earlier, this scheme was operated by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department but is now being run by Scheduled Castes Welfare. A development plan – prepared for 918 villages – specifically includes ten work areas namely potable water, sanitation, education, health, nutrition, social security, rural roads, housing, clean fuel resources, livelihood and skill development. Thus far, an amount exceeding Rs 32 crore has been released to the districts. The maiden phase’s duration is two years, an official release said on Friday.

After NCB move, MP CM orders scotching of drug menace

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) In the wake of the Narcotics Control Bureau proposing a special anti-drugs campaign from December 15 to 22, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday directed his officers to launch a drive for uprooting the drug mafia, which he denounced as humanity’s enemies who do not deserve to be spared.
“However, a sympathetic attitude should be adopted towards minor addicts and affectionate endeavours made to help them give up the habit. Unalloyed cooperation of the Social Justice Department and voluntary organisations must be solicited vis-à-vis de-addiction and rehabilitation,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while chairing a meeting at his residence.

MP CM assures unabated progress

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reiterated on Friday that there will be no dearth whatsoever vis-à-vis development and public welfare activities, official sources said.
The veteran leader and Rajya Sabha Member Jyotiraditya Scindia were addressing – via videoconferencing from the state capital – a programme in Shajapur for dedication of projects plus the unveiling of statues of Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar and erstwhile central minister Madhavrao Scindia. Inclement weather prevented the politician duo from visiting the district.

MP CM ramps up anti-narcotics drive

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) Throwing down the gauntlet again to the drug mafia, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan minced no words on Friday when he swore annihilation of the narcotics trade that constitutes a clear and present danger to “a golden future for our daughters and sons who will eventually assume the mantle of this nation’s responsibility.”
It was officially learnt that the senior politician – flanked by Rajya Sabha Member Jyotiraditya Scindia – e-dedicated a de-addiction centre in Indore and also launched a Mobile Drug De-Addiction Centre.
