Beauty may lie in the eyes of the beholder but there is little debate when it comes to the Indian wedding industry and the resilience that it has shown in the times of the COVID-19 crisis. Beauty and make-up is an integral part of the big fat Indian weddings and it has also faced the wrath of COVID-19, where businesses and salons have been forced to shut down and the entire industry is witnessing changes. But as we say, the show must go on, the global beauty industry has beautifully adapted itself to the changing scenarios during the pandemic and people are back in the salons, the best part - the brides are back!
And, if you are a lockdown bride, who is all set to get her wedding make-up done, ensure you abide by the following tips while getting your make-up done.
Getting make-up done requires prolonged physical contact. Here are ways you can stay safe.
-Wear a face mask covering the mouth and nose at all times while the duration of the appointment
-Ensure your make-up artist sanitizes make-up products and brushes/applicators with 70% Isopropyl-alcohol. Sanitising spray should be also sprayed on the lipsticks and brushes before they are wiped clean.
-Brushes must be spot cleaned before each make-up session by saturating the bristles in brush cleaner and spraying them with alcohol afterwards.
-If you are doing your make-up at home, deep clean your brushes by soaking them in tea tree oil and baking soda after they are properly spot cleaned.
-Keep a separate pouch for you clean brushes and another one for you dirty/ used brushes
-Always use disposable applicators because double-dipping is unsanitary and can contaminate the entire product.
-When visiting a known salon, you can take your own mascara, pencils, and lipsticks. Or else, ask the artist to use a disposable mascara wand and do not double-dip
-Lipstick and glosses should be placed on a palette using a spatula and applied with a brush.
There is no stopping the Indian wedding. Big and fat or small and lean, Indian wedding celebrations are here to stay.
