Back 4 Blood is the new Left 4 Deadish game by the people who made Left 4 Dead

"More and bigger." And a closed alpha in December.

Hello. Turtle Rock Studios, the developer of Left 4 Dead, has used tonight's Game Awards to reveal a first proper glimpse of its new game. It's called Back 4 Blood and it looks a lot like Left 4 Dead.

Over the course of a trailer and a bit of real game footage we were introduced to a world in which some sort of horrible worm has turned people into zombies. Nice to know how they're planning on topping the events of 2020. Anyway, Back 4 Blood looks like Turtle Rock is sticking to the formula - a team of wise-cracking survivors up against hordes of zombies. Guns and baseballs bats and grenades. Safe houses and graffiti all over the place.

Chris Ashton from Turtle Rock appeared on stage to say that the team was aiming to deliver "more and bigger" - variety, basically. There's a focus on over-sized specials for sure, one of whom rips away a huge gate in a nice moment. It looks brisk and fun.

The game we be out on June 22nd, 2021, with a closed alpha available from December 17th, 2020. According to the developer website, the game, which is published by Warner Bros, is targeting PS4, Xbox One and PC.
