Push for sports infra in 7 UP Board schools

boost for talent
Prayagraj: UP Board students interested in sports will get a chance to boost their talent as the state government gets ready to enhance such facilities in schools under the Smart City project.
The facilities will be provided in seven UP Board schools in Prayagraj and would include tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball courts and, a cricket net practice area. Besides, a play area for students of primary classes would also be set up.
“An amount of Rs 4.88 crore will be spent on the project and tenders too have been issued under the Smart City project. In the next five to six months, students would be able to avail these facilities in their schools. The facilities would enable children studying in government schools to play volleyball, tennis, badminton, cricket and kabaddi on their school grounds. Our officials surveyed school campuses before selecting seven of them,” said Smart City project manager SK Sinha.
“We then met the principals of the selected school and their management. Education officers also attended these meetings,” he added.
