Opposition is misleading farmers: BJP

Basti, Dec 11 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Minister and MP Harish Dwivedi on Friday said that the Opposition is misleading the farmers over the recently enacted agricultural laws.

Talking to UNI, Mr Dwivedi said that the BJP government is continuously working for the benefit of the farmers.

"The Punjab government used to take maximum tax from the farmers and now after the implementation of these new laws, the tax of the farmers has come to around two per cent", the Minister averred adding that the capitalists are demonstrating themselves as farmers and this demonstration is not of the farmers but the Opposition.

A farmer awareness campaign will be run in this regard till December 16.

Responding to a question, he said that the Modi government at the Centre has done the work of giving the farmers full rights after passing the agricultural laws. The farmers can sell their produce in the entire country but the Opposition is working for its own benefit under the guise of helping farmers.
