With Friday being the 16th day of the farmers’ agitation at multiple borders around Delhi, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will speak to Zee News’ Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary on the show DNA tonight.

Tomar, on Friday, said the Central government has sent its proposal to the farmers union, adding that they have discussed it but have not responded to the same. He also expressed hope that the government will be able to find the solution to the issues raised by the agitating farmers.

With the deadlock between the protesting farmers and the Centre continuing, another group of nearly 50,000 protesters in a convoy of 1,200 tractors have started their journey from different areas of Punjab towards the national capital on Friday morning.

Packed in a large convoy of tractor-trailers, buses, cars and motorcycles loaded with eatables, the farmers, largely belonging to the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, started their journey from Amritsar city, news agency IANS reported.

He said that as part of the plan to intensify the protests against the farm laws, the farmers are carrying ration that can last for six months.

Speaking to Zee News, Satnam Singh Pannu, the head of the Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said that the farmers are heading to New Delhi with an 'intention to die'. "Modi government should decide how to kill us as we will not leave our land under any circumstances," he said.

En route farmers belonging to other districts are joining them. They will reach the national capital's Kundli border on Saturday evening. The farmers largely belong to Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Moga districts.
