LUCKNOW: A doctor was kidnapped and blackmailed for ransom by a gang using a honey trap.
Police on Thursday said that Dr Akhilesh Chaturvedi, a dentist, was trapped by the gang which tried to extort money from him and even threatened to kill him.
While Sachin Rawat (20) of Unnao and Neeshu (19) of Delhi were arrested, their aides Adil, Balram Verma, Pravesh Jaiswal, Nazar Abbas and Sana are absconding. Police said Dr Chaturvedi was pre-acquainted with Neeshu’s sister Sana and had met her two-three times for medical consultation.
Progressing with the plan, the gang filmed the doctor in a compromising state with Sana and started blackmailing him.
Both accused confessed that they held the doctor hostage in a flat in Sushant Golf City. They beat him up when he refused to share his ATM PIN.

However, when a police team reached the spot, the kidnappers had fled, said the police. Joint commissioner of police, crime, Nilabja Chaudhury, said that a cash reward of Rs 15,000 each has been announced on the absconders.
