“The chief minister is scheduled to visit Ghaziabad on December 12 and will inaugurate the Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan in Indirapuram at 5pm” said an official from the district information office.
Hindon River near Haj House but environmental issues led to shifting of the construction site at the current location.
Being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 57.9 crore the project suffered delay by at least four months as its completion deadline of the project was March 2020.
“We had set the deadline as March 2020 for the completion of the project but construction work was hampered as work was suspended in December due to pollution and then after March the pandemic led to a complete stoppage of work” said SK Tyagi, project manager, UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam, which constructed the building.
The Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan has been developed on a 9000 sq. m of land in Indirapuram’s Shakti Khand 4 area. “Bhawan is a four-storey building which could cater to 280 pilgrims and has parking space for 188 vehicles,” said Tyagi.
