BJP leader Mukul Roy says Bengal is a fit case for invoking Article 356

BJP leader Mukul Roy says Bengal is a fit case for invoking Article 356

Kolkata, Dec 11 (UNI) BJP's vice-president Mukul Roy on Friday opined that the existing state of affairs in West Bengal demanded invocation of Article 356 ( President rule), especially after an

"unprovoked" attack on the convoy of party's national president Jagat Prasad Nadda at Diamond Harbour in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Thursday.

" If Nadda Ji was not riding in the bulletproof car things would have

been worse for him in the attack," Mr Roy told a media conference,

along with the party's national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya.

" Both Kailash Vijayvargiya and myself have been wounded in the

attack," Mr Roy said while showing his injured hand and ligament wound of Vijayvargiya. He said there was not at all a security measure and the attack was unprovoked.

Mr Roy, who was once No 2 leader of the Mamata Banerjee led ruling Trinamool Congress, claimed that law and order situation in the state nearly collapsed.

" There is no law and order situation and the state is under total lawlessness and irregularity everywhere," Mr Roy said.
