J&K High Court fixes Dec 16 for hearing review petitions of Roshni Land Scam

Jammu, Dec 11 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Comprising Chief Justice (A) Rajesh Bindal and Justice Sanjay on Friday directed the Registry of the J&K High Court to list the review petitions filed by J&K government and other private persons, including applications seeking clarification/modification of the judgment dated October 9, 2020 passed regarding the PIL and other connected matters on December 16.

The Division Bench also opened the sealed cover of the status report filed by CBI in the open Court and persuades the same.

The Division Bench after going through the status report of the CBI again sealed it and returned it to Advocate Monika Kohli who appeared on behalf of the CBI.

When this much publicized review petition filed by J&K government came-up for hearing, Advocate General DC Raina assisted by AAGs Aseem Sawhney and FA Natnoo drew the attention of the Division Bench towards the Apex Court order passed on December 10 whereby the High Court of J&K was requested to decide the review petition filed by the J&K government by or before December 21, 2020.

Advocate General DC Raina read out the various paragraphs of the review petition and submitted that the government of J&K is for the poor persons having dewelling houses and also for farmers having small holdings. The AG further submitted that the government will not spare encroachers, criminals and land grabbers.

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,382 on Friday in Madhya Pradesh where nine fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 2,21,115 with 1,222 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 29,352 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 13,092. Indore District continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 412 new instances; Bhopal 258; Jabalpur 52; Gwalior 49; Ratlam 36; Khargone 29; Sagar 25; Rewa 22; Datia 17; Ujjain, Dhar and Sidhi 16 each; Hoshangabad, Betul and Dewas 15 each; Sheopur 14; Vidisha 13; Balaghat and Barwani 12 each; Chhatarpur, Khandwa and Rajgarh ten each, etc. The silver lining is that 2,04,641 individuals recuperated; 1,347 of them on this very day.
