to protect them from Covid 19 pandemic, for which preparations have been initiated by the district
administration.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans said here Friday a district level task force has been constituted to ensure the smooth running of the entire process, the first meeting of which was held here.
Mr Hans said trials of three vaccines are in progress in the country at present, out of which trials of two vaccines has passed all three rounds while the trial of one vaccine has reached the final stage. It is hoped that next month a vaccine will be announced for people across the country, for which preparations have also started in Moga district. He said this vaccine would be administered free of cost to every person who has been issued an Aadhaar card.
He said special sites would be selected for administering the vaccine and special duty would be imposed on the staff. He directed that selection of sites and selection of vaccinating staff should be done at the earliest. He said under the "Mission Fateh" launched by the Punjab government, every resident of the district would be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Mr Hans clarified that first of all this vaccine will be given to the health workers and other workers working in the front line. After this, it will be the turn of all other residents of the district.
Lists are being prepared in this regard. Mr Hans directed the officials of the Health and other departments to coordinate with each member of the task force in this whole process to ensure that a WhatsApp group is formed. If any officer has any concerns he can immediately share them in the group. The process will be reviewed every week.
