38-year-old man arrested for killing his neighbour in Thane

Thane, Dec 10 (UNI) A 38-year-old man has been arrested by police for allegedly killing his neighbour over a dispute in Bhiwandi town of the district.
An offence under section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused, Vaim Ahmed Mohammad Safi Sayyed, with the Shanti Nagar police station on Wednesday night, police said.
According to police, the victim, Shakil Ahmad Safique Ahmed Rangrej (24), had a dispute with the Sayyed family over certain issues and the accused's sister-in-law had filed a complaint against the victim over some issues.
Last night, Rangrej went to the house of Sayyed and questioned him on the same, during the course of which, there was an altercation between the two.
As they were arguing, Sayyed attacked Rangrej with a sharp weapon and killed him on the spot.
The local police are probing into the crime, sources added.
