Amidst a raging pandemic, large scale running events have taken a backseat in India. The traditional running calendar from October - March has been badly hit with cancellation of all on-ground events. We, at OZiva, the clean plant-based nutrition company, believe that with virtual runs, there is a huge window of opportunity to reach out to all those women who are still keen on pursuing their fitness journey.
With this in mind, OZiva is conducting its first virtual fitness event - OZiva Women’s Run between 14th December - 20th December. The event comes in two forms - a Walkathon from December 14th - 18th where the participants will walk a certain number of steps and a Runathon - either on December 19th or 20th where the participants will take part in a 2km or a 5km run.
OZiva Women’s Run is a virtual event open to all women above 18 years and there are prizes galore on the offer with Rs 2.5 lakhs worth of prizes to be won. Moreover, part of the proceeds from the run will be donated to SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) towards child nutrition.
Commenting on the run, Aarti Gill, Co-Founder - OZiva said, “We at OZiva have always believed that fitness is a continuous journey and it's all about being #aBetterYou everyday. While we continue to support everyones’ fitness journey with clean, plant based nutrition, we understand that physical activity is equally important. Running is a preferred form of exercise in many women and there are hundreds of women who run at amateur and professional levels. Our virtual run provides an opportunity for all these women to continue their fitness journey while also supporting a good cause. Keeping this in mind we have kick-started OZiva Women’s Run 2020 wherein we hope that women from all over the country can take part in this event, wherever they are in the comfort of their surroundings.”
Commenting on the association with OZiva Women’s Run, a SNEHA spokesperson said,’"At SNEHA, we believe in strengthening and promoting health and nutrition among women and children in Mumbai's vulnerable communities. We are happy to associate with a brand like OZiva, which stands for nutrition and are grateful for the OZiva Women's Virtual Marathon 2020 support towards our programme on child health and nutrition."
