Imphal, December 09 2020: M Acham, village 'chief of Lamdan denied the allegations against him by an organisation led by Rita Ganmei and Tabuana Ganmei, at apress conference held today at Manipur Press Club.

M Acham added that Kabui Village Women Society which levelled allegations against him is not even from the village of Lamdan and they should produce proof of their allegation including the charge that he had a murder case against him, else he would file a defamation case against them.

Speaking to the press, Maringmei Takachung, member of Lamdan Kabui Village Authority, said Sacred Heart School used to be at the adjoining village of Tokpa for 12 years before it was shifted to Lamdan village due to disagreements between the school authority and Tokpa village.

He added that the relocation of the school was allowed purely on a temporary basis so as not to harm the academic year of the students.

However, the school authority recently tried to make it a permanent site for the school without the approval of the village authority and the village 'chief, he added.

The school authority left after the village authority took up legal actions against them and was now trying to defame the village chief, said Maringmei Takachung.

He further said that the claims made by the Kabui Village Women Society that there was no hereditary chief was erroneous as hereditary chief has always existed in Rongmei Village.
