Russian national operator Rostelecom has deployed more than 20 km of fibre-optic lines in order to cover private residences in the Vladimir region in November-December. Customers can access broadband services at up to 300 Mbps, as well as the OTT video service Wink on the GPON network.
The national operator also completed a project on the expansion of public Wi-Fi networks in villages in the Penza region. Wi-Fi hotspots have been deployed in 228 villages including 250 to 500 residents, after more than 2,000 km of fibre-optic lines were built. Work was carried out under the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide.
